Sept. 29 Saturday NATIONAL BOOK FESTIVAL The 2007 National Book Festival features 70 award-winning authors, illustrators and poets, who will discuss their work in various themed pavilions. Among the participants are David Baldacci, Jodi Picoult, Carmen Agra Deedy, Cat Cora, Holly Black, Michael Beschloss and Poet Laureate Charles Simic. The Festival takes place, rain or shine, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the National Mall between 7th and 14th Streets. OCTOBER 2007 Oct. 4–5 Thursday–Friday CONFERENCE The Asian Division presents a two-day conference, “A National Conference on Establishing an Asian Pacific American Collection at the Library of Congress,” beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the Whittall Pavilion.
